Welcome to Vienna!

Willkommen in Wien!

Michigan Tech's study abroad team has made it to the first stop on our 22-day long trip! This morning, the team met in Chicago and prepped for the nine hour flight to Vienna.

We arrived in the city early in the morning and had the opportunity to attend a tour of the city to aquatint us with the area we'll be staying in for the next four days.

We visited the Belvedere Palace & Gardens:

We stoped by a local market where we got to see many works by and inspired by famous Austrian painter Gustav Klimt:

And the day was finished with a group dinner at a local Viennese restaurant; our amazing meal consisted of an asparagus cream soup, potato and lamb lettuce salad with pumpkin seed oil, an entree of Viennese fried chicken, and apfelstruedel for dessert:

Tomorrow, we'll start the day with a chocolate making workshop! And on June 6th, we'll begin to make our way over to our next stop: the Czech Republic. Stay tuned to this blog to keep up to date on all of MTU's Huskies Abroad adventures!
