Dobrý den & Guten Tag!

Welcome to the Visual and Performing Arts Study Away blog that will document our adventures as we travel to Vienna, Prague, Dresden and a few places in between! We will be sharing all of the new things we encounter, photos of exciting adventures, and reactions of the students while we are away.
We are fortunate to have students from many different disciplines/majors joining us on this trip. The group has spent most of the Spring Semester getting to know each other and building our community. Everyone has been working to learn more about the culture, food, language, history, architecture, theatre, art, and music that is unique to each of the places we will visit.
Classes have already begun online in the areas of Bohemian Art, Form and Function in Scenic Elements, Decorative Embellishment, and of course Immersion! We are all excited to add the element of exploration and adventure to round out our studies.
Some of the highlights of our trip include a chocolate making workshop at the Shoko Museum in Vienna.
A guided tour of the Vienna State Opera House.
An afternoon adventure on the MS Wachau for a scenic cruise on the Danube River.
As well as a week in Prague to attend the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, the world’s largest event in the field of scenography.
This is just the beginning of our adventures. Stay tuned as each of the students take a turn adding to this blog to post their thoughts and photos to document their experiences and share their perspectives.
